The AKAS Electronic Throttle Body is a precision drive-by-wire throttle valve assembly replacement for Subaru vehicles equipped with EJ253 2.5L Naturally Aspirated Boxer 4-Cylinder (SOHC, non-turbo) Petrol engines (2004-2009), replacing Subaru OE 16112-AA010 (cross-ref 16112-AA180). PETROL ONLY - Exclusive for Subaru EJ253 2.5L Naturally Aspirated Boxer 4-Cylinder (SOHC, non-turbo) Petrol engines. This electronic throttle body controls the amount of air entering the engine based on accelerator pedal position and ECU commands, featuring an integrated throttle position sensor (TPS) and DC motor for precise, linear throttle response. Direct-fit installation with identical mounting points and electrical connector to the original factory part - no modification, adapter, or machining required. High-strength aluminium alloy housing with anti-foul coated valve plate and FKM fluoroelastomer seals ensures long service life. Backed by a 6-month limited warranty. 1. Electronic Throttle Body - Precise Drive-by-Wire Control This is an electronic throttle body (drive-by-wire) with integrated throttle position sensor (TPS) and DC motor, precisely controlling air intake for Subaru EJ253 2.5L Naturally Aspirated Boxer 4-Cylinder (SOHC, non-turbo) Petrol engines based on accelerator pedal position and ECU commands for linear, smooth throttle response with zero lag or hesitation. Resolves common faults including rough idling, fluctuating idle speeds, hard starts, reduced power, and unexpected stalling - clearing P0120/P0121/P0122/P0123/P0220/P0221/P0222/P0223/P2119 throttle position sensor fault codes. Replaces Subaru OE 16112-AA010 (cross-ref 16112-AA180). 2. Exact OE Match - EJ253 2.5L SOHC Only Precision direct-fit electronic throttle body for Subaru Forester SG 2004-2008 2.5X EJ253, Impreza GD/GG 2004-2008 2.5i EJ253, Legacy BL/BP 2004-2009 2.5i EJ253, Outback BL/BP 2004-2009 2.5i EJ253, Baja 2004-2006 2.5 EJ253 with Subaru EJ253 2.5L Naturally Aspirated Boxer 4-Cylinder (SOHC, non-turbo) Petrol engines. 1:1 OE dimensions, OE connector, identical mounting points - no modification required. PETROL ONLY - not compatible with turbocharged (EJ255/EJ257), diesel, or other engine variants. Verify original OE number before purchase. 3. Direct-Fit Installation - Save Time & Labour Identical form, fitment, and dimensions to the original factory Subaru throttle body - no grinding, modification, or machining required. Installs directly onto your intake manifold with ease, using existing mounting bolts and electrical connector. Pre-calibrated at the factory to OE specifications - however, an OBD scan tool may be required to clear fault codes or perform throttle adaptation (OBD relearn / idle air volume learning) after installation on certain vehicle models with factory ECU programming protections. 4. Premium Materials & Precision Engineering - Built to Last High-strength aluminium alloy housing with excellent corrosion and heat resistance prevents warping and air leaks even under sustained high-temperature operation. The valve plate features a durable non-stick anti-foul coating that repels carbon deposits and oil residue, significantly reducing the need for frequent cleaning. Fitted with high-temperature fluoroelastomer (FKM) gaskets that resist oil vapour degradation, preventing ageing, oil seepage, and air leaks over extended use. Meticulously calibrated valve clearances eliminate issues such as incomplete closure, binding during operation, and sluggish return. 5. OE Quality at Aftermarket Value - 6-Month Warranty Manufactured to strict Subaru OE specifications with dependable electronic precision, rapid signal feedback, solid high-heat tolerance, and anti-vibration capability - performing comparably to the genuine Subaru throttle body (16112-AA010 / 16112-AA180) at a fraction of Subaru main dealer cost. Backed by a 6-month limited warranty covering manufacturing defects. For South African Subaru owners - where Forester and Outback remain popular family vehicles and EJ253 2.5L electronic throttle body failure is a common cause of rough idling, reduced power, and failed emissions/roadworthy tests. PETROL ONLY - VERIFY COMPATIBILITY: This electronic throttle body fits Subaru Forester/Impreza/Legacy/Outback/Baja with EJ253 2.5L Naturally Aspirated Boxer 4-Cylinder (SOHC, non-turbo) Petrol engines (2004-2009), replacing Subaru OE 16112-AA010 (cross-ref 16112-AA180). PETROL ONLY - Exclusive for Subaru EJ253 2.5L Naturally Aspirated Boxer 4-Cylinder (SOHC, non-turbo) Petrol engines. NOT compatible with Turbocharged (EJ255/EJ257) / Diesel, NOT for other engine variants. Verify original OE number, engine code, and fuel system before purchase. VERIFY OE NUMBER: Before making the purchase, please make sure that the OE number is correct. If the OE numbers do not match, they cannot be used together. This throttle body replaces Subaru OE 16112-AA010 (cross-ref 16112-AA180). Do NOT substitute with a different OE number throttle body (e.g. 16112-AA320 for Legacy/Outback 2.5 2010-2019, 16112-AA380 for Forester/Impreza/WRX 2.5) - they have different calibrations, connector types, and bore diameters and are NOT interchangeable. OBD ADAPTATION / IDLE AIR VOLUME LEARNING MAY BE REQUIRED: Due to factory ECU programming protections on certain Subaru vehicle models, an OBD scan tool may be required to clear fault codes or perform throttle adaptation (OBD relearn / idle air volume learning) after installation to ensure proper operation. This is a function of the vehicle's original software, not a product defect. Please confirm whether your vehicle requires OBD adaptation before placing your order. If OBD adaptation is required, an OBD tool must be purchased separately. PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION: Recommended for proper torque on mounting bolts, correct intake manifold gasket seating, and clearing of diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) / throttle adaptation after replacement. Allow engine to cool completely before servicing. Ensure the intake manifold mating surface is clean and free of old gasket material, carbon deposits, and oil residue before installation. Do not over-tighten mounting bolts. WARRANTY: 6-month limited warranty covering manufacturing defects under normal use. Does not cover improper installation, drops, contamination, water ingress, use on incompatible vehicles/engines (Turbo/Diesel/other variants), wrong OE number, modification, or normal wear. This is an aftermarket replacement part - not affiliated with or manufactured by Subaru. What's in the box 1 x Throttle Body
