It seals porous surfaces, binds chalky surfaces, improves topcoat adhesion and coverage, and blocks stains from grease, handprints, asphalt, crayon, graffiti, rust marks, light water stains and cedar or redwood bleed. The matt white finish gives an even base for interior and exterior painting. The 946ml tin suits touch-ups, furniture and smaller rooms. Popular uses include priming walls, ceilings, drywall, wood, hardboard, cured plaster, concrete, stucco, brick and masonry, glossy enamels, varnished surfaces, panelling, laminates, ceramic tile, glass, aluminium, vinyl, steel, galvanised metal and PVC before painting. Application tips: Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 2°C and 32°C and humidity is below 85%. Surfaces must be clean, dry and sound, free of dust, chalk, grease, oil, wax, mildew and loose paint; wash with an ammoniated cleaner (not TSP), sand paint edges smooth, lightly sand exposed exterior wood with 80-100 grit paper and scuff sand bare aluminium. Shake or stir well and apply with a brush, roller or sprayer (for airless spraying use a 0.017 tip at 2000-2500 psi). If thinning is needed, add no more than 295 ml of clean water per 3.78 L and apply a second coat. Tint with up to 59 ml of universal colorant per 3.78 L to help the topcoat hide. It dries to the touch in about 30 minutes and can be top-coated in 1 hour; full adhesion and hardness develop in 7 days. Coverage is roughly 37-42 m² per 3.78 L, depending on porosity. Bare cedar or redwood needs 24 hours before painting; use Zinsser B-I-N® Ultimate Stain-Blocker on severe water and smoke stains. Clean tools with warm water and liquid detergent.
