Citronella Essential Oil (50ml) Pure & Natural

About this item

Non-Returnable. Stick to Nature Citronella Essential Oil is not a synthetic, laboratory-designed fragrance made simply to smell pleasant. It is steam-distilled from citronella grass, preserving the oil's naturally rich aromatic profile and the qualities for which genuine citronella oil is valued. The Citronella Scent Profile Citronella is best understood as a fresh, cleansing and naturally insect-repelling essential oil. Its bold lemon-green aroma is naturally rich in citronellal, geraniol and citronellol. These aromatic plant components give Citronella its distinctive outdoor-fresh scent and support its most valued uses: insect-repellent blends, odour control, natural cleansing, skin purification, air freshening and comforting massage applications. HOW TO USE CITRONELLA ESSENTIAL OIL Insect Repellent Insect repellency is Citronella Essential Oil's best-known and most distinctive use. Its strong aromatic profile helps make it more difficult for mosquitoes and other unwanted insects to locate people nearby. Use it in outdoor diffuser blends, patio sprays, candles, garden-area products and carefully formulated skin or clothing sprays. Citronella naturally evaporates over time, so outdoor products may need to be reapplied to maintain their aroma and repellent effect. Odour Control Citronella's powerful lemon-herbal aroma is especially effective where stale, damp or unpleasant smells tend to develop. Its naturally purifying profile makes it useful in shoe sprays, foot-care products, bins, pet-area cleaners, bathrooms and laundry-area fresheners. Rather than adding a sweet perfume, Citronella leaves behind a crisp, outdoorsy freshness that is strongly associated with cleanliness. Air Freshening Citronella is ideal for refreshing patios, entrances, kitchens, bathrooms, workshops and other areas that need a strong, clean botanical aroma. Add it to a diffuser, room spray or household freshening blend when you want the space to feel brighter, cleaner and less stale. It blends particularly well with Lemon, Eucalyptus, Lemongrass, Tea Tree and Peppermint. Natural Cleansing Citronella's naturally purifying aromatic profile makes it a useful addition to multipurpose cleaners, bathroom sprays, floor products, laundry blends and cleansing soaps. Its citronellal, geraniol and citronellol content contributes to the oil's antimicrobial and antifungal character, while its fresh aroma gives cleaning products a distinctive botanical finish. Skin Purifying When properly diluted, Citronella can be included in products for oily, sweaty or odour-prone areas of the body. It is especially suitable for foot washes, cleansing soaps, body washes and other rinse-off products intended to leave the skin feeling fresh and purified. Citronella is a strong aromatic oil and should always be used at a low, controlled concentration in skin-care formulations. Anti-inflammatory Support Citronella Essential Oil has a naturally soothing profile that makes it useful in external body-care and massage blends. Laboratory research has reported anti-inflammatory activity in citronella oil, supporting its use in formulations intended for tired, stiff or overworked areas. Dilute it properly in a suitable carrier oil and massage it into the legs, feet, shoulders or back as part of a comforting after-work or post-exercise routine. Muscle Comfort Citronella's fresh, stimulating aroma works well in massage blends for tired muscles and heavy-feeling legs or feet. Its character is refreshing rather than deeply warming, making it especially suitable after outdoor activity, physical work or long periods of standing. Blend it with Eucalyptus or Peppermint for a cooler massage, Rosemary for a more stimulating blend, or Lavender for a softer and more relaxing experience. TRADITIONAL USE Citronella grass and its aromatic oil have traditionally been used as natural insect repellents, perfumes and household fresheners. In tropical regions, the oil has also been used to scent soaps, body-care products and living spaces, particularly where mosquitoes and other insects are common. Warning: For external and aromatic use only. Do not swallow or apply undiluted to the skin. Citronella Essential Oil is highly concentrated and may cause skin irritation, sensitivity or an allergic reaction. Always dilute properly in a suitable carrier oil or finished product and perform a patch test before topical use. Avoid contact with the eyes, inner ears, mouth, nostrils and other sensitive areas. Do not apply to broken, damaged or irritated skin. Do not add undiluted essential oil directly to bath water. Use only a small amount when diffusing and ensure the room is well ventilated. Avoid breathing concentrated spray or mist. Discontinue use if irritation, coughing, headache, breathing discomfort or an allergic reaction occurs. Keep tightly closed, protected from heat, air and direct sunlight, and away from flames or other ignition sources. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not apply concentrated Citronella Essential Oil directly to animals or add it to their food or drinking water. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before use during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, on young children, or where a medical condition, breathing disorder or fragrance sensitivity is present.
