Hassle-Free Exchanges & Returns for 30 Days. · 6-Month Limited Warranty. An oil pickup screen on a vehicle is a fine mesh filter located at the bottom of the engine's oil pan, attached to the oil pickup tube, which prevents large debris from entering the oil pump by filtering the oil before it is drawn into the system, ensuring smooth oil flow and protecting the engine from damage; essentially acting as a first stage of oil filtration. Key points about the oil pickup screen: Function: To catch large particles like metal shavings, dirt, or gasket material that could potentially clog the oil pump if they were not filtered out. Location: Situated at the end of the oil pickup tube, which is submerged in the oil pan. Maintenance: While the main engine oil filter is typically changed regularly, the oil pickup screen may need cleaning or replacement during major engine servicing, depending on the vehicle and driving conditions.
