About this item

Hassle-Free Exchanges & Returns for 30 Days. · 6-Month Limited Warranty. South Africa's sun is powerful - but without a cover, your pool loses heat, water, and chemicals faster than you think. An uncovered pool can lose up to 300 litres of water per day through evaporation. That's thousands of litres wasted every summer - along with the chemicals and heating costs that go with it. The Mix Box 3m x 2m 500 Micron Solar Swimming Pool Cover is the smart, cost-effective solution every pool owner needs. This heavy-duty bubble blanket harnesses the sun's energy to keep your water warmer while slashing water loss, chemical use, and maintenance time. Built with UV-stabilised LDPE, reinforced edges, and rustproof metal grommets, this cover is designed to withstand South Africa's harsh sun, strong winds, and year-round use. WHY CHOOSE MIX BOX? 500 Micron Heavy-Duty Thickness - At 500 microns, this cover is thicker and more durable than standard 300-400 micron alternatives. Better heat retention, longer lifespan, and superior resistance to tearing and UV damage. The reinforced edges and seamless hot-melt welding prevent cracking and bubble burst - even under the harsh South African sun. Bubble Side DOWN - Critical for Performance - Always place the cover with the bubble side facing down on the water. The bubbles act like magnifying glasses, absorbing solar heat and transferring it directly to the pool water. Incorrect placement reduces efficiency by up to 50% and can cause premature bubble damage. Rustproof Metal Grommets - Easy Securing - Unlike cheap covers with plastic eyelets that crack and break, this cover features rustproof metal grommets at reinforced points. Use any standard tie-downs, ropes, or bungees to secure your cover - even in strong Cape Town winds. (Securing ropes/pegs not included.) UV-Stabilised LDPE - Long-Lasting Durability - Made from premium UV-stabilised low-density polyethylene that resists cracking, fading, and degradation from intense South African sunlight. Antibacterial and waterproof construction prevents mould and mildew growth. Perfect 3m x 2m Size - Fits most rectangular and oval residential pools of this dimension. The generous coverage ensures maximum heat retention and evaporation prevention. Solar Heating Cover - Not a Safety Cover - This is a solar heating and evaporation reduction cover. It does not support weight and is not designed to prevent access to the pool. Always supervise children around water. PERFECT FOR: Residential Pools - Standard 3m x 2m size fits most rectangular and oval residential pools; Extending Swim Season - Enjoy warmer water from spring through autumn. Raises water temperature by up to 8 C; Budget-Conscious Pool Owners - Reduce heating, water, and chemical costs. Pays for itself in approximately 18 months; Eco-Conscious Homeowners - Lower your pool's water and carbon footprint. Save thousands of litres of water annually; Coastal & Windy Areas - Rustproof metal grommets and reinforced edges withstand Cape Town's notorious winds; Loadshedding-Prepared Homes - Reduce pool pump running time by up to 50% - less dependency on Eskom power; Installation Tip: Always place the cover with the BUBBLE SIDE FACING DOWN on the water. The bubbles act like magnifying glasses, absorbing solar heat and transferring it directly to the pool water. Incorrect placement reduces efficiency and can damage the cover.
