It is commonly used for automotive applications, allowing users to measure bearing clearances without the need for disassembling parts like the crankshaft. Plastigauge is perfect for measuring the gap (clearance) between fitted surfaces, especially in split bearings or areas where a feeler gauge cannot be used. It is most often used to measure clearances in automotive bearings, such as big-end bearings, without the need for disassembly. Applications: 1. Measuring clearance in automotive plain bearings. 2. Suitable for large bearings, including marine drive shaft bearings, turbine housing bearings, and pump pressure system bearings. 3. Measuring shaft end-float. 4. Checking flatness and clearance in pipe flanges and cylinder heads. 5. Measuring separation in moulding tools or hidden surfaces. This versatile tool is essential for precise clearance measurement across various engineering and automotive applications.
